Karan Johar’s student, Varun Dhawan, isn’t dating anymore!

Being a star isn’t easy and at times, some sacrifices are made to stay longer on the big-screen. Newcomer Varun Dhawan, who made his debut in Karan Johar’s 2012 blockbuster, Student of the Year, has reportedly broken his relationship with a girl he has been dating. After having starred in the campus-romance alongside Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt, Varun has been surrounded with filmmakers and fans, each looking to get the best from the actor. Obviously, the youngster has a jam-packed schedule, which in turn seems to have hampered his relationship.

“It was a mutual decision. It is never too easy for a girl to date an actor. Even though they both had talked about how things would change once his film released, they didn’t realize that it would be so difficult to hold on to each other, ” says a source close to the actor and his former girlfriend. While Varun had on previous account kept his dating life away from prying eye, the sudden popularity seems to have taken a toll on this actor’s love life!

“It’s possible. When life settles for both of them and they are more comfortable with it. Neither Varun nor Natasha are looking to date someone else. They have decided to remain friends and see how it goes,” adds a source. However, a close friend of Varun denied these rumors of Varun Dhawan dating, saying, “Varun doesn’t have a girlfriend. Natasha is his friend and people mistook her for his girlfriend. He’s been single for a long time now. Varun has a lot of prep work for his forthcoming films so he’s only focusing on his career now. He has no time for love or romance in his life.”

Varun Dhawan has indeed made a fabulous debut with his appearance in Karan Johar’s fifth directorial venture, Student of the Year. The son of veteran filmmaker David Dhawan, Varun starred in the film’s lead alongside actors Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt. Now while his co-stars have already signed multiple films, Varun seems to be taking it slow. The actor has decided to do one film at a time. One of the most sought-after newcomers of today, Varun has recently signed his second film. A project titled Mein Tera Hero, this film will be produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Varun’s dad, David Dhawan.

Quoting Varun, “I have been reading a lot of scripts since the release of SOTY.” The actor has been offered several films off-late and has also spent a considerable amount of time reading scripts. However, he isn’t too keen on packing his schedule with too many projects and has decided to focus his diligence on one project at a time. “I don’t want to name the films I’ve said no to because I’m sure the people making them will give their 100 per cent.” He adds, “I’m a newcomer so I just feel it’s better for me to do one film at a time and invest my all in that instead of going on a signing spree to make a quick buck.”

Besides this, the actor has also been making headlines after rumors of him dating his co-star Alia Bhatt hit airwaves. The actress has however disregarded these speculations saying, “I don’t really care about people discussing my personal life. I’m fond of Varun and Sid but no I’m not going out with either. And no, I have no boyfriend in Bandra. A boyfriend doesn’t really fit into my scheme of things right now. My boyfriend is Student of the Year.”

Varun Dhawan has indeed grabbed the spotlight with his debut in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year, for several reasons. Besides being the son of the veteran filmmaker David Dhawan, Varun has charmed audiences with his spectacular performance in the film. The youngster made his debut alongside two more newcomers, Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra and plays the role of a rich son of a business tycoon.

When asked about his aims for the future in a recent interview, Varun said, “I would tell you something that Karan (Johar) said to me. He said that you concentrate on being an actor and audience would do the rest to make you a star. My goal is to be an actor for my own and also audience satisfaction. Hopefully both of us would be entertained.”

The actor has had a dream debut indeed and is currently on his way to stardom. Having signed a film directed by his father, Varun will be seen next in David Dhawan’s Mein Tera Hero, a film produced by Ekta Kapoor.

The dazzling and charming Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan are both rumored to be dating before, a fact that left a bunch of female fans disappointed. While Siddharth Malhotra was said to be dating, a Costa Rican model he met on his trip to the United States when assisting Karan Johar for the film “My Name Is Khan”, Varun Dhawan was rumored to be dating a Mumbai-based girl.

As expected, the news was all untrue and the two youngsters prefer a single life! “Aaah, no I am not involved with anyone right now and there is no dating-shating happening. People who have been in this journey of mine are my family members and very close friends. Beyond that there is no one else in my close relation with,” said Siddharth Malhotra. Varun has also recently been linked up to his co-star, Alia Bhatt. In a previous interview, Alia went on to add, “I don’t really care about people discussing my personal life. Varun Dhawan to sing in his upcoming film, Main Tera Hero!

Varun Dhawan made a perfect Bollywood debut in the Karan Johar  film, Student of the Year, playing actress Alia Bhatt’s boyfriend. The young actor is now working on his next film, a directorial venture by his veteran filmmaker father, David Dhawan. Titled Main Tera Hero, the upcoming film is a remake of a Telugu blockbuster, Kandireega and will be produced by Ekta Kapoor’s production house, Balaji Motion Pictures.

For his next big-screen appearance, Varun Dhawan has been preparing hard and is currently being trained by Priyanka Chopra’s music trainer, Samantha Edwards, who will polish the actor’s singing skills.  A source close to the actor recently said, “A scene from the movie (‘Main Tera Hero’) involves Varun, who plays the role of a musician, singing at a pitch that goes from high to low. It might seem like a small thing to some but Varun decided to train so that his singing appears effortless.”

ration for my father’s film is going good. The script is still being worked on. We both are very excited about this project.”

His training will also help him in an upcoming rumored film in which the hunk will play a musician. Speaking about the same, an insider reported, “It’s a thriller in which he will play a musician. If all goes well, the film might start by the end of this year. We’ve also heard that Varun chose to undergo training on his own. Dhawan Sr. did not ask him to learn. He’s been going for classes for the past couple of weeks. The training will go on till May.”

When Karan Johar first announced the film Student of the Year, the director managed to grab a load of attention, particularly because of his choice of roping in a newcomer cast. The actor has been showered with praises by fans and industry elite. Says choreographer Shiamak Davar, “Varun is really a teacher’s dream, such a fine person and so talented. It was great to have him at the show.” The young actor recently made an appearance at the ConfiDance Show where he caught Shiamak’s eye.

Varun too has been showing his appreciation for his mentor, Karan Johar. Previously, Varun articulated, “Karan is like a guru to me. Whatever I have learned is from him. I have a personal relationship with him. If he asks me to do something, I will do it. I trust him blindly.” The actor also went on to add, “I have got offers but I am not allowed to talk about it. We have a contract of three films with Dharma,” speaking about his plans for the future.
